Note: Please read carefully and come prepared for at least one topic from each round. If you qualify for round 2, you will get the opportunity to speak on any topic from round 2 topics under your specific level. Good Luck!

Level 1: Ages 6 – 10 yrs   |   Level 2: Ages 11 – 14 yrs   |   Level 3: Ages 15 – 18 yrs

Participant must prepare at least one topic from each round under his/her level.

Speech Duration

Level 1: 3 minutes (180 seconds) maximum
Level 2: 4 minutes (240 seconds) maximum
Level 3: 6 minutes (360 seconds) maximum
Additional time after the allocated time will negatively impact the score. If a speech exceeds 30 seconds after the allocated time, a final bell will ring, indicating a hard stop. 4 points will be deducted for any speech that exceeds by 1 minute above the allocated time and additional 4 points will continue to deduct for every additional minute.
 
  • 30 seconds over = warning bell
  • 60 seconds over = minus 4 points
  • 120 seconds  over = minus 8 points
